i heart faces photowalk

Angie and I had a fabulous morning, strolling a beautiful cemetary (wierd, I know) with our Nikons for the I heart Faces Atlanta photo walk. We talked, and talked, and snapped, and snapped, and talked some more. We were both wiered out by the lack of people (or living people) to photograph and felt a little out of place for the most  part, however, I think we both needed to step out of our comfortable surroundings and do something different. Conclusion? I like to photograph people. And flowers. But this type of photography aint my thang. Maybe someday. The bright side? I got to hang with Angie (kid free) and talk photshop, lenses, and cameras, and a little bit of life. Thank you so much mom for babysitting the kids! I enjoyed the "me time".

Here are a few images from my day in the sun. This cemetary is really beautiful. I think all cemetaries should be this beautifully designed, and kept.

i heart faces week 2: "Best Face Photo"

As part of i heart faces 1st birthday celebration (Happy Birthday!!) they are hosting a challenge for the best face photo! The only catch is that the photo has to be taken in the month of December or early January. I am glad I hung out with my dear friend Brandi and her beautiful girls, or I might not have anything to enter this week! When I read the rules for this week's contest I immediately thought of this photo because it really focuses on Dakota's facial features....which are amazing. If you don't enter their contests or read their blog....you've got to start today. You do not have to be a professional, you can be an amateur like me. :) I've learned a lot from the pro's on this site. Go for it!

This week at i heart faces they are celebrating their one year anniversary with a logo theme. This kind of creative stuff makes me giddy on so many levels. i heart faces week 51: "hilarious outtakes"

This week over at i heart faces the theme is hilarious outtakes. I got really giddy when I saw this on their website because I have SO MANY of these kinds of pictures. I'm always forcing innocent children to smile for me, and we know how that works. Out of 50 pictures, I usually get one that I can actually use. Over time I have realized that the accidentally funny ones are the best framers because they're real. These are from a session I did this summer. I was trying to get a shot of all the grandkids for Nana's 60th birthday gift. I did get one.....but some of the funniest ones were the ones I didn't use.

At least I finally got him to look in the direction of the camera. :)

I think they were all done at this point. Jack was so mad about the whole experience and made everyone else mad by not cooperating, so I decided to change locations to see if that would change his tune.

It didn't. I finally gave up on making them smile and told them to make whatever face they wanted.....I was OVER IT. Here's what I got.

My only question here is directed towards Carsyn, Caroline, and Nicholas, and Layton......why was THAT the face when chose when told to smile?
